What is the best flea prevention for dogs and cats?

My cat has never had fleas(at least that i have seen) and I have always used frontline on my dog… should i start putting flea prevention stuff on my cat? and what works the best for the money?

i have tried multiple products and i know that to get rid of them for good ill have to have my house flea bombed but this isn’t an option, i just need to know what the best product is and that works the longest, because i am seeking to buy a year supply.

What flea drops work best and can you use to much?

Well I got some flea drops from the vet ,it’s called first shield. They claimed it worked better than front line and advantage. Well after 2 wks the fleas are back. So what is the best flea drops and do I have to wait 2 more wks to use it or can I use it now.

Now that spring has Spring has sprung where I live and the bugs will soon be prowling I am considering changing his flea and tick meds…. and I want to know what other folks think the most effective product is.

P.S. We have used Sentinel.
EDIT: Yeah to my knowledge Sentinel only prevents heartworm, roundworm, hookworm and fleas…..

Is there something else I should be worried about???
