Fipronil for treating fleas
An effective flea treatment for your pet cat or dog is fipronil aka Frontline. Fipronil works by affecting the nervous system of arthropods such as fleas and ticks, which results in paralysis and eventual death for them. Fipronil also works great for other kinds of insect pests like ants, termites and wasps.
In termites, fipronil works relatively slowly, and because of this, it becomes useful in baiting. Termites eating the fipronil laced bait feed others and this can eliminate the entire colony. In fleas though, fipronil works quickly, and once applied to your cat’s skin, it spreads through the cat’s skin oils and knocks out all the fleas in the general area within 24-48 hours.
Fipronil seems to be quite safe for most cats or dogs unless your pet is allergic to it. Try not to let your pet lick itself after application as you want it to dry first; you can try playing a game with your pet in the meantime.
