My precious kitty was killed in October by Advantage Flea Treatment and of course they are doing everything they can to pretend it wasn’t their fault. I had her blood work done as part of her check up and everything was fine other than she was itchy from fleas. I gave her the Advantage a few hours before bed and I woke up in the middle of the night to find her nearly dead. I could tell immediately that she probably wouldn’t make it and took her to the doctor. At that time, her liver levels were incredibly toxic. Her Alt liver value which had been mid 20′s before the flea treatment was well over 1200 which means she had encountered a very, very serious poisoning. The Advantage was the only difference and online I found hundreds of other people who had the same thing and same symptoms happen after using Advantage. The people at the Advantage poisoning hotline tried to tell me their product was safe, but clearly it wasn’t! Why would they even need the hotline if it was safe?! My poor kitty had NEVER been sick and had never been to the vets for anything other than her yearly check up. This rescue kitty was very important to me and was worth far more than just the 00 in vet and burial expenses. What can I do to get Advantage to reimburse me for killing my cat?
This was from our vet that we’ve gone to for 12 years, and we did not use it without doing thorough blood work to make sure kitty was healthy.
There is no doubt that this poison killed my cat and her blood work proves she was well hours before and incredibly sick hours later. She was pampered and had the best of everything from vet care to food and had never been sick. Please do not Spam this serious issue with ads for the poison that killed my precious rescue cat.
