My cat just gave birth 2 days ago. About 2 weeks ago I took her collar off and was afraid to use any flea treatments in fear of the chemicals harming the kittens. I noticed yesterday that her kittens had fleas too!!!! I couldn’t believe it! I want to treat them asap, but I really don’t know what the best method would be, and when I could w/out harming them? If anyone knows anything, please, help me out! Concerned cat lover, LV
Heavy rainfall this spring and last years hurricanes in Florida and along the entire east coast have caused the ground to be saturated with moisture and that means the perfect conditions for a record infestation of fleas. Pet owners nationwide are flooding into their veterinary clinics asking for help to control the fleas that are making their pets lives miserable. Once a flea infestation gets established in your environment, it’s tough to bring under control because the adult fleas produce thousands of offspring. The adult fleas you see on your pet are only 5% of the total flea problem.
I do not like to pour chemicals on my dogs necks, especially when they want me to wash my hands thoroughly! What is the chemical doing to my pets!
Has anyone heard of or used the product called kleengreen for killing fleas on dogs? And what was your experience with it?
My dogs are on heartworm preventitive.
I have a 14 week Basset Hound and have already applied the Frontlineflea control but it is not working. The poor thing is still covered in fleas. I am afraid to apply any more chemicals. Does any one have any natural or organic remedies I can try to use on the dog and to treat her play yard? I live in east Texas and I guess that the heat and humidity are a perfect breeding ground for fleas and mosquitoes……Help.
A few years ago, my cat had a bad reaction to the Advantageflea treatment. Since then, I have never used flea treatment on her nor have I my other cats. I do not want to risk putting any chemicals on my cats. What should I do about fleas? I do not want to use flea collars because I have heard that the chemicals on them can irritate a cat’s neck. Are there any effective, natural products that I can give to my cats that will prevent fleas? I don’t want them to suffer with fleas; however, I’d rather my cats have fleas than risk another bad reaction to Advantage or any other treatment.
